"Queer Agenda Sheffield (QASh) is a network of queer activists in and around the Sheffield area. QASh promotes the interests of queer people as an oppressed group under patriarchal capitalism.
We hold to these basic aims:
- To engage in and support social struggles which affect the lives of queer people.
- To provide a queer perspective on issues relevant to such struggles.
- To resist the commercialisation of queer culture and the co-option of queer struggles.
- To link, and therefore reinforce struggles between oppressed groups through solidarity and mutual aid.
QASh recognises that queer oppression intersects with multiple forms of oppression. We also recognise that its members live in a relatively privileged environment, whereas queer struggle is global. We aim to support the queer struggle wherever, and whenever, we are able."
